Volunteer Spotlight: Patsy Harris

“It all began with having Marisa speak, taking gift bags from church to the ladies, donating a desk for the "new: house from my mother-in-law's estate, dropping off donation checks, and attending graduations.

I felt the urge to involve the Outreach Committee from Hopewell United Brethren Church and me personally. I began dropping in with birthday cookies and bringing recipes and ingredients for cooking fun. Outreach gives the graduates a special gift and participates in cooking times.

We want to be involved with the ladies at Hearten House because we get as much from the interactions as they get from us. It's a way to be God's servants: doing for other, building relationships, and being a part of the building of God's kingdom. II Corinthians 5:14-15, "For Christ's love compels me...", that's my motivation."
