Thank you for a great Gala!

This year's Hope For The Future Gala raised more than $95K for our mission. We are overwhelmed with gratitude from all of you who came, placed bids, brought friends, bought tables and were event sponsors. This event could not happen without you!

Our gala saw a record-breaking number of dollars raised and in the amount of new donors who participated. We also announced the launch of our Hearten Heroes monthly giving program and saw many people pledge their monthly support that night. Now, because of this success, we can confidently continue the work at hand... to bring hope, healing and love to the women who need us most.

Thank you again!

-Marisa McKenzie

Executive Director

Thanks to our sponsors!

Celebrating our graduates!

Sara graduated in December. She shared, "I have found security, love, and support at the Hearten House. I know that I am a child of God and have a teachable spirit. I was out of control before coming to Hearten House. I was vey angry and afraid. I was in a very dark place. Now I am sober, and a functional mother. I completed my Bowen Center classes. God has truly restored my life."
Irma is another December graduate who said, "I have found God since I have been at the Hearten House and through Him, I have been able to push forward and remain sober. I am not the same person I was. I am a changed person. I began smoking and drinking when I was 11 years old. I started down a path in a world that nearly destroyed me. I now have my drivers license back. I have a relationship with an amazing daughter and a beautiful granddaughter. I have truly learned to put God first."
December also marked Lisa's graduation. She shared, "The Hearten House helped me to have a relationship with God resulting in forgiving myself and getting my life together. I now know that I am a child of God. I was lost before I came to the Hearten House. I have completed classes at the Bowen Center, I have a stable job, I have a vehicle, and I have a better relationship with my children."
Sabrina is another December graduate who said, "The Hearten House has taught me how to be a mom, daughter, and just an overall good person again. My whole life has changed for the better. My kids are talking to me again and my mother said that she has a reason to live again. I have overdosed 33 times and been in and out of the hospital due to infections from IV drug use. I am a grateful recovering addict. I am so glad that God never gave up on me."

Be a 'Hero'

We’re looking for some heroes… Hearten House Heroes to be exact. “Heroes” are individuals who agree to join forces to support our mission by giving $20 a month. Together,
we can help women find hope, healing, and the love of Christ.

Hearten House Snapshots

1). Patsy Harris (pictured left) brings recipes, games, and friends to minister to the ladies. They make meals and visit. Patsy has been involved in the Hearten House from the beginning. She is part of the Hopewell United Methodist Church Family. Patsy comes during the day and brings joy and wonderful baking smells into the house. Please join us in honoring Patsy Harris for her love of the ladies at Hearten House. 2). We recently celebrated the baptisms of five of our women. Sheri, Lynette, Jill, Leslie, and Alisha. 3). A huge thanks to the students of Huntington University for creating a video for our new monthly giving campaign, Hearten House Heroes which you can see at heartenhouse.org. 4). Miss Kaile was named MVP of the month at her new job. She is rocking her new journey and we are beyond proud of her!
